A Historic Bed & Breakfast in the Heart of Cape Cod
Be our guest in a historic Cape Cod sea captain's home, built in 1839 in the classic Georgian architectural style of the nineteenth century. Located in the historic village of South Dennis, our bed and breakfast has been lovingly restored to its original character. Our small, intimate inn is tastefully decorated and has comfortably elegant rooms designed for guests to enjoy. Throughout the Shady Hollow you will find Mission style furnishings, complemented by charming hooked rugs, and local artwork. The Inn is situated on an acre of land with beautiful gardens and breezy spots overlooking the hollow and grounds.
Anything you would like to do on Cape Cod is easily reached from the Shady Hollow Inn. Our guests set out for the day to go hiking, kayaking, biking, or take a day trip by ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. And of course there are the beaches; the Inn is close to Cape Cod Bay, Nantucket Sound, the Atlantic Ocean, and the National Seashore, with its pristine Atlantic Ocean beaches. We are a short 5 minutes from the Cape Cod Rail Bike Trail and the Bass River. Bikes and kayaks are available for guests use. We are happy to provide maps and share our local knowledge of Cape Cod's hidden treasures.
Each morning our chef prepares a full multi-course breakfast using the freshest, and when possible, locally grown, organic ingredients. In the summer, many of our herbs, greens and berries are harvested from our garden. Muffins, breads, or scones are baked fresh daily. Great care is taken to accommodate our guest’s dietary requests and we are happy to offer vegan breakfasts upon request. We guarantee you will enjoy a delicious and healthy start to your vacation day! When weather permits, we serve breakfast outside on the brick patio, surrounded by gardens overlooking the hollow.
